2005-11-02: NetBSD 2.1 released

NetBSD 2.1, the first maintenance release of the netbsd-2 release branch, has been released with binary distributions for 48 architectures. More information is available in the 2.1 release announcement.

NetBSD 2.0 released with support for 48 architectures. More information is available in the 2.0 release announcement.

2004-07-11: Working driver for on-board MACE MAC-110 Ethernet on O2

Support for on-board MACE MAC-110 Ethernet on IP32 (O2) is committed.

2004-07-08: wscons support for Indigo in-tree

wscons support with GR2 graphics controller and z8530 based keyboard/mouse on IP20/IP12 (i.e. Indigo machines) is now in-tree.

2004-04-11: IP12 support in-tree

IP12 support (4D/30, 4D/35, Indigo R3k) is now in-tree. See Antti Kantee's message for details.

2004-03-01: NetBSD 1.6.2 released

NetBSD 1.6.2 released with support for 40 architectures. More information is available in the 1.6.2 release announcement.

2003-12-31: Indigo (IP20) support in-tree

Indigo (IP20) support is now in-tree. Both NFS root and local root go multi-user. See Christopher Sekiya's message for details.

2003-12-15: newport and console attachment committed

Ilpo Ruotsalainen has committed a driver for SGI NG1 (``newport'') graphics controller. See his email for details.

2003-10-15: O2 support now functional again

O2 (IP32) support is now functional again by fixes contributed by Christopher SEKIYA. Support for R10000 based O2 is also added.

2003-04-21: NetBSD 1.6.1 released

NetBSD 1.6.1 released with support for 40 architectures. More information is available in the 1.6.1 release announcement.

2002-09-14: NetBSD 1.6 released

NetBSD 1.6 released with support for 39 architectures. More information is available in the 1.6 release announcement.

2001-05-11: Recent additions to NetBSD/sgimips

Rafal K. Boni has added a lot of new support to NetBSD/sgimips that has been committed to NetBSD-current. Most notably is new support for the IP22 (Indigo2, Indy, Challenge S). A list of all the major new additions is as follows:

• Support for the IP22 (Indigo2, Indy, Challenge S)
• Support for the HPC I/O peripheral ASIC. There is where SCSI, Ethernet, etc. live on the Indigo2 and Indy
• Support for the Seeq 8003 Ethernet attached to the HPC ASIC, found on the Indigo2 and Indy
• Support for the Dallas 1286 clock found on the Indigo2 and Indy
• IOC1/2 memory map
• Support for the Indigo2/Indy IMC (this is that to which all other devices are attached)
• Support for the SCC serial ports on Indigo2 and Indy
• Support for configuring an SCC console
• Generic software interrupt implementation, derived from NetBSD/mipsco
• Basic EISA support for the Indigo2
• Dynamic system configuration support, derived from NetBSD/pmax

An example kernel configuration file for Rafal's Indigo2 can be found in sys/arch/sgimips/conf/TEAL.

2000-11-29: New -current snapshot available

A new NetBSD/sgimips snapshot, based on 2000-11-23 -current sources, is available in the NetBSD/sgimips snapshot area of the ftp server.

2000-06-29: New snapshot available

Userland snapshot and O2 kernel, based on 2000-06-20 sources, are available in the NetBSD/sgimips snapshot area of the ftp server.

2000-06-14: NetBSD/sgimips merge started

Initial commit of NetBSD/sgimips code.
